How To: Install An Aftermarket Steering Wheel
Assault Industries ("AI") warrants to Buyer that the new product will be free from defects in material and workmanship under normal and reasonable use for a period of three (3) months from the date of purchase ("Limited Warranty Period").
By way of illustration, but not limitation, the following do not constitute defects in material or workmanship: (a) normal wear and tear and/or necessary repairs; (b) improper handling, storage, assembly, installation, lubrication or maintenance; (c) damages caused by or related to misuse, abuse, unauthorized modification or alteration, accident, acts of God or external causes; and (d) cosmetic damage (nicks, defects, discoloration).

If the product fails during the limited warranty period due to defects in materials and/or workmanship, AI will replace the product. AI replacement will be done at no cost to the customer for parts. The customer is responsible for all labor costs associated with the removal and/or replacement of the product. Buyer will also be responsible for and must prepay all shipping or handling charges associated with warranty service, including returning AI products. In addition, the customer assumes all risk of loss or damage to the product until AI receives it. To obtain warranty service for your product, you must email customer_service@ or contact AI Customer Support at (714)799-6711 immediately after the failure. You will need to provide valid proof of purchase. You may also need to send a photo of the defective product. This is an AI product and within the limited warranty period, the customer will be given a return material authorization to return the product to an address designated by AI Customer Support. At its sole discretion, from time to time for your convenience, AI may send you a replacement product prior to your return or AI review of the product. If so, you agree to pay for the replacement product if AI inspection of the returned product shows that the product is not defective under warranty.
This limited warranty shall be governed by the laws of the State of Indiana without giving effect to principles of conflicts of laws that may provide for the application of the laws of other jurisdictions. If any provision is invalid or unenforceable, this will not affect or impair the validity or enforceability of the remaining terms. The Attack Industries Ballistic D Universal Steering Wheel is a D-shaped, leather-wrapped wheel with an aluminum frame and aluminum center plate. To give the rider more room, the Assault wheel is smaller in diameter and has a lower rim than the standard wheel on the RZR 900 we tested. The Ballistic D universal wheel costs $160 and requires Attack's $70 hub adapter. It is a well made black anodized piece of aluminum.
On the RZR, the steering wheel nut is located under the trim. You can remove the cover with a flat screwdriver with a thin blade. Remove the nut. If the wheel stud does not come off the steering axle, tap the axle with a hammer while pulling on the wheel and it should come out.
Install the hub adapter onto the steering shaft so that the mounting holes on the adapter and the steering wheel are centered and the vehicle wheels are level. Install the steering axle nut. Apply non-permanent thread locking compound to the steering wheel mounting bolts, align the center plate with the mounting holes, and install the mounting bolts. The allen wrench that came with the wheel didn't match the fasteners and the best tools we had, so use high quality tools to avoid damaging the bolts.
The Assault's D-shaped wheel is more comfortable and sturdier than a standard plastic wheel with bare hands or gloves. The lightly padded leather wheels have thumb pads to protect your toes on rough terrain, and the solid aluminum frame hardly bends like a standard wheel. The D-shaped wheel and smaller diameter than the stock make the cabin look more spacious while driving, and it opens up more space to make it easier to get in and out of the vehicle.

Some parts of the performance only help in certain situations. The Assault's ballistic D steering wheel made every mile we drove with it better and makes getting in and out of the RZR easy. The allen key provided should fit the fasteners better.
